As I walked out of the Malta Song for Europe venue little more than a month and a half ago, I still had not really realised what had hit me.
Were I to say that I did not expect to win would be a case of being economical with the truth. But believe me...I did not expect 30,000 votes. I am still in awe at the result.
I have now realised what hit me. Big time.
It has been a hectic roller coaster ride all these past six weeks. Enjoyable but none the least hectic. My cocker spaniel 'Milly' has had to live with my mother for the first time since coming into my life. Missing her has been terrible. Sometimes I really feel like taking a week long well deserved sleep. But I simply do not have the time!
It has been a constant rush from one airport to the other. From one television studio to the next performance arena. Whilst in Malta I've had to deal with the stage performance, the choreography, the backing vocals, the dress.
But as I sit quietly in front of my laptop, writing my first blog, I have realised that I love doing this and wouldn't dream of living my life differently.
I just hope that we get a good result. And when I say 'we' I mean it. I am surrounded by the best people I've met in my whole life.
And all this makes every effort and sacrifice worth while. Speak to you tomorrow! :)

Thanks for starting a blog:) Hope that you will keep it up to date not as I did:)I even started my podcast but abandoned it after several months. Anyway, I am Joseph Micallef - I don't think you remember me but once u sang with me during the BJ's marathon-Fabrizio Giorgio had taken me there to play and there was also the greatly missed Bernard (the Bassist)playing. You sang Besame Mucho with me and it was a great honour for me. If you care to visit my website (my trio's website actually)-which is nowhere as attractive as yours, its http://acoustika.co.nr . I wish you all the luck for the eurovision. You have a very good song. Please though don't adopt oriental costumes because the song is basically Spanish and not oriental. Break a leg (obviously not literally)

Hell Garu. I just visited your site which I think is amazing...:) Thank you for visiting my blog. Keep surfing for more...Ol
Hey Olivia!
It's great to hear directly from you! For future blogs, I would suggest you telling us what's happening (and what already happened)behind the scenes regarding your performance in Helsinki (Choreography, costume, any surprises?). Please quench our thirst to know more! I know that you would not like to spill all the beans this early...but you can give us slight hints e.g. telling us to expect a surprise but not telling us what it is! Then it would be up to us to try to guess! ;-)
Anyways, Keep up the good work and keep us informed!
Hi. Today I happened to watch one of the previous Xarabank episodes on the Internet while I am on a business trip around europe.. Budapest..Antwerp.. Hannover and and St.Petersburg. Your site was mentioned and I went in immediately. Very nice and attractive website.. I will do my best to promote your song while I'm around here. I'liked the remix as well.. Well done and Good luck. Keep up the good work ;)
Hi there, thansk for your everyday blog. I must consider myself tp be one of your greatest fans and those who know me can judge better. I work for an aviation company in Malta and on the telephone PABX system I suggested we play vertigo and that is what we do at the beginning of Aprl so we will have a month time to promot vertigo from the phone to our suppliers and customers around eroupe. I wish you all the very best.
Hi Olivia! This blog is great, fantastic to get inside the mind of a Eurovision contestant. I wish you the greatest luck with "Vertigo" as it is my favourite song this year and I look forward to reading your blog as time ticks on towards the contest itself! Chris :-)
Hey Olivia!
It's so nice to see real comments from a singer in Eurovision, it makes it seem much more personal.
First of all, I think Vertigo is fantastic and I am so pleased for you that you are finally going to be in Eurovision! Your drive and passion is something I would love fellow British people to have when it comes to Eurovision.
To tell you the truth, I don't think the Vertigo video is so good (I want to tell you my real opinion so you know the truth) - I think maybe acting isn't your forté. But keep on with the singing and making music. As I said, Vertigo is one of my favourite songs for the competition this year and I think it will do very well indeed.
Good luck in Helsinki!

Hi Olivia
I was browsing the net looking for any mention of cocker spaniels belonging to George Cross and your site came up. I sent (from Scotland) Mr Cross a lovely black cocker spaniel about five/six years ago and I wonder if your Cocker pup is related. Mr Cross has lost touch with me, so never hear any news of the wee girl I sent to him. Can you tell me if the name Ch Noslien Nuala is in your pup's pedigree? If so - I am her breeder and she was born in Ayrshire Scotland.
all the best
